Update training b 2012

The update training A 2012 happens from Saturday the 6th of October to Sunday, the 7th of October in Ticino (CH) and has the following major content:

Guiding in vertical canyons
Doing a vertical canyon
Accidents
Equipment
PSA-Qualification

You need the full canyoning equipment (please see equipment list of module 1+2). You need a rope which is at least 60m long. If you have a 100m rope please bring it as well.

This update training is limited to 16 participants.

Costs

The course fee of 90 Euro has to be payed in advance (you will receive a bill by email). Accommodation is not included in this price.

Even if accomodation and food is organised individually it would be nice to meet for dinner at the end of the first day.

The prices for camping can be found on the campgrounds website. All additional fees (camping, food etc.) has to be payed at the spot.

Requirements and Expectations

We can only accept members who did the online booking. The number of participants is limited. The validity sticker will be delivered only to participants who present higher guiding skills. The ones to far from that will be checked again before they can get the sticker.

Guiding conditions

By participating in a CIC coursse, you automatically become a member of the association. As a canyon guide of the CIC we ask you to respect the following rules :

Follow an update training every two years after module 2
Support the association, especially by providing important information concerning canyoning (accident reports, canyon closures, news articles, etc.) to your national representative
Respect the guide/client ratio of 1 guide for 7 clients, 2 guides for 7 clients in difficult canyons
Limit yourself to a maximum of 15 clients within one group
Guide and clients have to wear helmets at all times while in a canyon
Always carry the minimum recommended first aid kit with you
Use two lanyards at your harness (i.e. the Spelegyca from Petzl)
Carry a rescue rope
Use of the SAFER and follow the recommandations given during the courses.

If you do not respect these rules you risk loosing your CIC certification.

Content of program

Meeting point is the camping "Riarena" in Cugnasco (link to their website with access information etc.), where the responsible instructor welcomes you at day one at 08:00. The update training will finish at day 2 around 15:00.

Registration form

The student can cancel the reservation any time before the course starts. He must inform the CIC in writing. In case of cancellation or no show, the CIC has the right to ask for the following cancellation fees:

Cancellation 60 days or more before the course starts : 25 Euros per person cancelation fees
(+ non refundable expenses that may have be engaged).
59 to 30 days : 25% of the course fee ;
29 to 22 days : 50 %;
21 to 1 day(s) : 90 %;
No show : 100 %.
